Getting Traffic to Your Web Site

The very first step in this process is to submit your site to the major Search Engines. You can submit any type of page to most major Search Engines, whether it's your own site, an affiliate site or an MLM corporate site.

There's a nice free tool at AddMe that I've used a number of times, and they have a more comprehensive paid service too. There's also another free tool at FreeWebSubmission.com, that I haven't yet used, along with a paid "express submission" service.

Remember, getting your page listed can take weeks or even months unless you pay for it and none of these services or tools can control what ranking your page receives in the search results. You'll have to work on that yourself. There are already a few resources within these pages that can help you with that and I plan to add more (including free ones) as time goes by, so keep checking back.

One helpful strategy, though, is to focus on building "reciprocal links" with quality sites of a related theme.

There are many programs available on the web to help you "exchange" traffic for your web site. I've listed some of the ones I know of here, but there are a number of others. Many of those listed here have both free and paid memberships available. Some are multi tiered so that you get extra traffic credits by referring others.

They're not listed in any particular order (I will categorize them when I get some more time). So check some of them out.

(Bear in mind that with "Traffic Exchanges" many of the people visiting your site already have an internet business or site of some kind and are mainly visiting to gain credits so they'll get visitors to their site. There is a possibility that they may have already seen your product or that they'll not stay long to check it out thoroughly. But with the number of new people starting internet businesses everyday, new products & programs becoming available etc there's also a very, very strong possibility that you'll have lots of fresh visitors willing to look at and maybe buy what you have to offer, especially if it's something a bit different or new.)

AdGizmo I've listed this first because it's fairly new and I like it. It's a pop-up advertising exchange, but with a difference. What's more, you can create cloaking links, so it'll even work with affiliate pages. Buying extra credits is pretty cheap too (as at Oct '03).  Membership is FREE.
